Local secret

Tucked away between South Perth and Victoria Park, nestled across from the community park is Morseby Street, a small shopping strip right in the heart of the suburb. On the block is local hairdressing salon This Above All. Owner Phil is a long standing resident living only a couple of streets over from the strip with many years of experience in the industry.

A small team of staff help keep their neighbours hair looking fresh, chopping off the dead ends and bringing back the glossy colour finish. Though employee Taylor loves her creative colours – if you’re feeling adventurous why not put the colour wheel to the test? Forget sandy blonde ("bronde") its all about the pink, purple and grey.

Ready to style

The shelves are stocked with hair products from Evo, free from heavy chemicals using natural alternatives where possible. You can grab a coffee from the neighbouring cafe, or simpy sit back and sip on one made in-house, while you decide on a tough hair-styling decision thats going to be permanent for at least six to eight weeks.

Just a short drive from many of the local high schools, ball season is fast approaching and it’s an easy choice to transform those locks into the all so popular braid or messy bun. If you’re anything like me, I require hair styling assistance with anything more difficult than blow-drying my hair. Though my hair-do levels are below beginner.
