Bobeche: A small cocktail bar with a huge personality

A quaint cocktail bar tucked away in Perth's CBD, Bobeche is the perfect place for some experimental cocktails. We tell you what our favourites were, and why.

In the heart of Perth CBD, Bobeche is the perfect little cocktail bar that will excite your senses

Adventuring around Perth City and Elizabeth Quay is thirsty work - what better way to end your day than with a cocktail? Their glazed glass doors will lure you in, whilst the oh -so charming bartenders will keep you entertained. Since their opening in 2012, Bobeche quickly became a destination bar well known for their experimental styles of classic cocktails.

Walking into a bar like this can feel like you’re travelling back in time. The atmosphere is designed to be a break from the busy streets of Perth CBD. The low lights, classic drinks and familiar music is the best way to end a long day.

These three cocktails were not only my favourite, but were also utterly unlike any other I’ve had:

Flora Dora Fizz

Their Flora Dora Fizz features liquid nitrogen freeze dried strawberries, tanqueray and framboise. A perfect balance of sweet and tarty! This little pink drink is a perfect way to start off an experimental cocktail experience.

Nothing beats a classic Kingston - especially the way Bobèche has mastered it. Their well-balanced banana flavour mixed with a splash of Aperol and Goslings Rum will make it one of the most unique Kingston’s to be found in Perth.

Pineapple Daiquiri

Their signature ‘Chargrilled Pineapple Daiquiri’ involved over seven months of precise experimentation to perfect and balance out the flavours before it was ready for the public. This tarty drink was well worth the effort.

All that drinking can build up a serious hunger, luckily you don’t have to leave the bar to satisfy your cravings. For this basement bar offers more than just drinks. They also provide edible delights that vary from their irresistible popcorn to their delicious deviled eggs with mayo and crispy bacon.

The dish that steals the show would have to be their golden hash browns with onion, malt vinegar and parmesan. The taste is a great mix of vinegar and cheesiness that just hits the spot!

So if you like experimental cocktails, tasty bar snacks and charming atmosphere, then you will love Bobeche. Don’t just take my word for it, try it out for yourself.
