Perth’s Outback Splash has something for everyone!

For thrill-seekers, pure excitement awaits at the adventure park, with two raft slides (‘The Wall’ and ‘Blackout’), an enclosed golden speed slide (‘Gold Rush’) and Western Australia’s fastest body slide, aptly named ‘The Wedgie’, where riders plunge downward at speeds of up to 75km/hour.

The new slide tower has been custom engineered with shade in mind. Towering more than 20 metres in the air, is a solid roof to keep guests and the park’s crew in almost full shade all day. The stairwell intertwines the tower itself, providing shade for riders on their ascent to the top.

With 101 steps to the top of the new six-storey water slide tower, every three slides you will earn bigger bragging rights than climbing Jacob’s Ladder (which has a mere 242 steps).

Perth’s Outback Splash Director, Paul Woodcock said the anticipation was building, with everything on track for the public opening of the new slides.

“We are proud to have added to our attractions, expanding the park’s appeal for visitors of all ages. We invite everyone out this Summer to enjoy these amazing waterslides that are world-class, right here in Perth.”

 The Wedgie

The only way to get from the top to the bottom of the new water slide tower faster than The Wedgie is to bungee jump! With a rush of 100 tonnes of water each hour and reaching expected speeds of up to 75 kilometres per hour, it’s the fastest water slide in WA.

The Goldrush

This enclosed body slide has a max speed of 60km/hour and is named in homage to WA’s mining history and the inspirational prospectors seeking their fortune in the 1890s. The translucent golden design is visually stunning and one of the most exhilarating slide paths in the world.

The Wall

The Wall is based on all the best features of ‘The Boomerang’ – the No. 1 slide experience at Bali’s Waterbom Park, recently voted the top water park in Asia. This two-person raft slide and mammoth quarter-pipe is one-of-a-kind in WA. It also has an almost free-fall drop into the 11-metre wall and near-vertical ascent.

Blackout

Blackout is the closest thing to intergalactic space travel in Perth, with a sequence of pitch black, disorientating colours and mind-blowing natural light effects. Thor's Bifrost bridge, Willy Wonka’s boat ride and Dr Who’s Tardis don’t compare to this ‘black hole’ slide experience. This two-person raft slide is full of high-speed twists and turns and an epic ski-jump style final drop.

CEO of Tourism Council for WA, Evan Hall passed on his congratulations to the entire Outback Splash team, on behalf of the entire tourism industry.

“The parents of Perth are going to be eternally grateful that this has been seen through,” he said.

“We have these amazing experiences that are going to be enjoyed by everyone in Perth and I’m pretty confident we will be bringing in international and interstate guests as well.”
