Caffeine fiends get your hearts a-beating with the inaugural launch of the Subi Coffee Series and a week full of coffee events from this Monday in Subiaco!

Calling all caffeine fiends and everyone looking to escape the house after lockdown, Subi Coffee Series is set to get your week buzzing with a range of events spread over seven days.

Launched just this year, the coffee festival will see events throughout the City of Subiaco from August 10 to 16. Events range from coffee-making masterclasses to art workshops to a whole range of breakfasts and after-hours drinks at cafes, bars and venues.

Festival Co-Director Brianna Delaporte said the Series was looking to showcase what the Subiaco always does really well, its coffee culture.

“Everyone has a favourite coffee shop here, so we’re really heightening that and sharing it with the rest of the city,” she said.

“Between fifteen events we also have a heap of specials happening over the period.”

“Coming out of lockdown, the City of Subiaco wanted to make sure they were supporting local businesses, so this is a way to make sure we’re all working collectively to shine a spotlight on what Subiaco does well.”

Kicking off the series in full flavour, a selection of coffee cocktails and coffee-infused pulled pork sliders were rolled out for the launch of the Series at Refuge Small Bar last Thursday night.

Subiaco artist Carollyn Rhodes-Thompson brought a new twist at the launch through putting on a demonstration of painting with coffee, as a taster of the upcoming workshops to be hosted at Subiartco Gallery. The two-hour workshop offers the chance to have a go at experimenting with the tonality of coffee and create a piece of coffee art, in a fun art class you’ve definitely never tried before.

It's been an anxious year so far and the series has the ultimate way to bring those stress levels down with Cat Café Purrth hosting Coffee With Cats. Book a cat for 30 minutes of cuddles on the Thursday for the ultimate cuppa and de-stress sesh.

Looking for something sweet to go with that brew? Then why not take the Dessert and Coffee Walking Tour of Subiaco, hosted by Two Feet and a Heartbeat. Or if you want to make your coffee a cheeky one head along to the Spiked Coffee Brunch at Hangout on Hay on Saturday and Sunday, to add a little extra tipple to your morning coffee.

Chill to some tunes at Brew-Ha for Coffee and Jazz on the Saturday from 11am, while you nibble on some free food samples. Or if you are looking for something for the family, head to the Hole in the Wall Café and kick back with a coffee while the kids take part in the cupcake decorating workshop on the Thursday, make sure to book your spot online though.

Take caffeine crafting into your own hands with The Little Pantry putting on a coffee making masterclass on the Thursday or mix it up at espresso martini making at Brew-Ha on the Friday.

Not looking for a morning catch-up? Make it an after-work one with the Coffee Cocktail Takeover on the Friday. Blacklist Coffee, Cupid Catering, Refuge Small Bar, Subiaco Hotel and Hangout on hay are all putting forward their unique coffee cocktails for a fantastic night out.

There are any number of events next week set to get your palette buzzing, so for more information or to book head to seesubiaco.com.au/coffee.
