Immerse yourself in the arts as you discover world-class Western Australian entertainers hidden in the vibrant, cultural hub of the State Buildings at Western Australia's first YELLO festival.

This YELLO road will take you on a unique adventure, celebrating spring and the best that Western Australia has to offer, as you unearth a smorgasbord of tastes and talent that will surprise and tantalise your senses at every turn.

Ali Bodycoat, Community and Arts Manager for the State Buildings, says she is most excited about the ability to dip her toe into a huge melting pot of brilliant offerings that will be delightful, very tantalizing, great for the taste buds and especially inviting for the senses - all in the one space.

“It will represent the eruption of Spring and all things blossoming with every area [of the State Building] activated so that we can really celebrate the space and show Western Australia how we do it in the city,” she said.

“We want this to be a general celebration of the Western Australian population and we would like the community to celebrate with us in beautiful surroundings with exceptional quality and amazing produce.

“We want to bring the masses to the city to celebrate the best of everything that we do.”

Soak up the visual feast of Pippa McManus‘ incredible live art installation in the Cider Orchard, while multi-award winning 7-piece ensemble DSUS Afro-Peruvian Jazz Group will radiate their joy within Postal Hall, the beating heart of the State Buildings.

One of Australia’s most exciting talents, Allira Wilson and Wilson’s Racket, will reinterpret the greatest pop, blues and RnB hits and Soukous Internationale will explode with outrageous rhythms and pumping sounds.

Oompah

Five-piece Bavarian-style horn ensemble, Oompah! will give you that ‘Hofbrauhaus’ feeling with their repertoire of foot-stomping, thigh-slapping tunes, along with five-piece acapella jazz vocal group, Koko, and the classically beautiful string sounds of Dolce Duo.

No matter where the YELLO journey leads you, the towering stilt walkers, led by Libby Hammer, will captivate and delight.

The stunning surrounds of The Treasury Lounge and Bar will be perfectly complemented by the richly elegant jazz sounds of WAAPA songstress, Lucy Iffla, accompanied by Oliver Vonlanthen on guitar.

Drop into Petition Wine Bar & Merchant and Petition Beer Corner to celebrate the best small-batch wines and boutique craft brews Western Australia has on offer. The Long Chim team led by multi award-winning Bar Chief, Dean Buchanan will be shaking up Western Australian-inspired cocktail creations utilising local produce along with spirit tastings from global heavyweights.
